Regulatory Manager
SummaryMyriant's Regulatory Manager will work on the planning, development and implementation of environmental, health and safety programs for our rapidly growing biotechnology-based specialty chemicals business. Subject matter expertise will help ensure our compliance with local, state, federal, and international regulations during the manufacture, sale, storage, and transportation of our products.
Responsibilities
- Managing environmental, health, and safety compliance in both manufacturing and research environments.
- Developing and implementing training programs.
- Managing specific projects relating to regulatory compliance including the work of outside consultants.
- Lead environmental, health, and safety audits and inspections.
- Obtain and maintain necessary permits to support operations.
- Act as liaison with regulatory agencies including filing all necessary reports and documents as needed to support the operations of the business.
- Work with Government Affairs to leverage resources and capabilities with regard to interaction with government officials.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Science, a Master's degree a plus, but not required.
- 5-7 years of industrial experience in the chemical or industrial biotechnology industry.
- Comprehensive expertise in global environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Direct experience with REACH, TSCA, DOT, toxicology, and air and water permitting in the chemical and/or industrial biotechnology fields is strongly desired.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
