Norman R. Augustine
Mr. Augustine has decades of private and public sector experience, including serving as the former Chairman and CEO of Lockheed Martin and as Under Secretary and  Acting Secretary of the Army. He was named as chairman of special reviews of the United States Human Space Flight Committee by Presidents G.W. Bush and Obama. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of ConocoPhillips, Black & Decker, Procter & Gamble and Lockheed Martin, and of the Board of Trustees of Colonial Williamsburg. He is a Regent of the University System of Maryland, Trustee Emeritus of Johns Hopkins and a former member of the Board of Trustees of MIT and Princeton, his alma mater. He is an Advisory Board member to the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Energy, was a member of the Hart/Rudman Commission on National Security, and has served for 16 years on the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. He has been presented the National Medal of Technology and received the Joint Chiefs of Staff Distinguished Public Service Award. He is a five time recipient of the Department of Defense's Civilian Distinguished Service Medal. He co-authored The Defense Revolution and Shakespeare In Charge and is the author of Augustine's Laws and Augustine's Travels. He was selected by Who's Who in America and the Library of Congress as one of "Fifty Great Americans." He was Chairman and Principal Officer of the American Red Cross for nine years, Chairman of the National Academy of Engineering, President and Chairman of the Association of the United States Army, Chairman of the Aerospace Industries Association and Chairman of the Defense Science Board. He is a former President of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Boy Scouts of America.  He holds 25 honorary degrees.
